January 30 New Semester begins !This Monday was the first day of the semester.
The class that I have is ECO 703 on Monday this semester.
Something very interesting happened in the first class.
When the professor came into the classroom, the first thing that he said was," Are you Huang ?"
I was so surprised and I was wondering," does he know my name?"
Then he looked at me with a nice smile on his face and asked me ," Are you Lusi? Lusi Huang?"
" Yes." I answered with a lot of questionmarks in my head.
Just for my curiosity, I asked him, "how do you know my name ?"
"You were here last year." He told me.
" Yes, but I dropped the class at the beginning of the semester, and I am going to take it again. " I said.
The first class opens with such a conversation was very interesting for me. I've never thought he would recognize me as I changed my look with short hair right now. And there were so many students last time and so many new students this time he can still remember my name. So amazing.
This class is such a hard class, I must spend a lot of time in it if I want to get a "B". This professor is not easy too, for he already knows me, i must work even harder.
Tasks for this semester:
ECO 703: two homework assignments, and two very hard exams.
ECO 748: Two exams and a paper.
ECO 722: five Homework assignments, two hard exams and a thesis proposal includes everything.
Thesis Research: Around 30 pages. Models + STATA
Work:
Two jobs that I am working on.
For the coming four months the places that I have to travel back and forth are midtown Manhattan, downtown Manhattan, Upper East Side (school) and my home.
So my task is that I have to distribute my time more effectively and more efficiently.
Busy is incredible. It makes my life at least mean something and provides me opportunities to learn and try different kind of things. It's my pleasure to be busy. :)
My wish:
Hopefully this semester I could get verything done without problems, especially my thesis, which has already brought me enormous pressure.
January 16 IT's the middle of the winter break ...There is one thing that I have to agree, time is running fast.
It feels like I just took my last final exam last week,
but actually I am already in the middle of the winter break.
My plan for this break was
probably I should study materials for the coming semester;
I should start to work on my thesis....etc.
But,
plan is always meaningless for me.
Up until now, I have not done anything.
So??
I enjoy the break, quite relaxing.
I can do things that I like which I could not do when semester begins which is in 10 days.
I should just keep enjoying the break, don't rush anything.
Do what I wanna do, if not, maybe I will regret when I get busy again.
Anywho~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Today, I have a new idea in my head.
Things need to be improved.
And I make a new rule for myself.
I do have a lot of rules. Funny, interesting, or stupid.
For people don't understand, they would think I am kind of stupid, but I don't care at all.
For example, if I can see squirrel or squirrels in the morning, I think I will be lucky on that day, and if I see a cat, that will be the opposite.
Intereting, huh~~ I like squirrels :)
Let's get back to what's the new idea.
I should try to do things in different ways.
Even though it is a thing that is similar or as the same as before, try to use a new way to do it.
Never repeat doing anything. Never repeat the way that I used before.
Try something new. Make a difference.
What I need is exploring things around me.
That's my new idea for the new year--
No matter whether what I did was good or bad, do Not repeat doing it again.
If it was a bad thing, of course, it needs to be changed. If it was a good thing, it needs to be better. "NEW" will be the word for my 2009.
Everything should be , no, not should be,
everything must be new.
I believe that 2009 will be my year. :)
